Fingerboard Skate Park

QA’s Elements class “Fingerboard Skatepark Engineering'' exemplifies what students love about Quantum Academy. The class combines students’ passion and interest in fingerboarding with the STEAM skills of design planning, engineering, collaboration, creation, and videography. In the class, students first design and plan their own dream skatepark and then engineer the plans out of recycled cardboard to build gnarly half pipes, pools, vert ramps, stair sets, and much more. After weeks of hard work, the students get their payday when they then get to test their designs and create short videos of the fingerboard tricks they can perform in their skatepark.  The students even have the opportunity to meet and have a Q & A session with Escondido’s own TikTok star EscoTim, creator of Cony Hawk, the incredible skateboarding traffic cone. EscoTim also donated fingerboards for each student to have.

At the end of the class, the students “Impact the Community” by donating their skateparks to the students at Quantum Academy for all to enjoy.
