Our five values guide us to our vision and beyond.
Lead with Empathy: think about the needs of others, consider others in your decision making
Ask Questions & Seek Answers: clarify what you don’t understand; research to know more; make connections to build new understanding
Create: use, reuse and reinvent to design, build, construct, fashion, or fabricate something
Impact the Community: consider how your actions will affect those around you
Perseverance: find ways to keep going, keep moving toward the end goal
Enrichment Classes
Enrichment opportunities include choice-based explore and elements electives classes plus Genius Hour every trimester. Enrichment is 4 days a week for 50 minutes. Recent Explore/Elements classes include:
Build Creative Confidence through Improv
Friendship Bracelets with a Purpose
Lego Mindstorm Programming
Elements and Principles of Art
Bloxels Video Game Creation
Project Based Learning
We teach and learn through collaborative Project Based Learning, which gives students an authentic and engaging purpose for learning the curriculum. Projects so far this year have included: Quantum Aquatica where 7th grade students plan a waterpark experience for students at Quantum and Orange Glen, plus our Medical Therapy Unit on campus, the Totem pole personal narrative projects where students had to create representations of themselves from clay to put on display.
Personalized Learning
Every student at Quantum Academy has an individualized Student Learning Plan, with goals and an action plan in academics and our Quantum values. They develop this plan in collaboration with their teachers and revisit it every 6 weeks throughout the year to track progress.
We also further personalize instruction through our iGrow classes. iGrow is 4 times a week for 40 minutes and is designed to help students meet their specific needs in academics and our QA values. Students are placed in these classes based on data and teacher recommendations. Students have enjoyed digging deeper into their area of need.
The School Choice window is now open through January 31, 2024.
