Mrs. Roberts’ kindergarten class enjoyed an engaging outdoor writing lesson focused on butterflies! Students observed, discussed, and wrote thoughtful pieces about these amazing insects while taking advantage of the beautiful weather and learning in nature.

On May 2, Juniper proudly participated in the smArt Festival, showcasing students’ creativity, talent, and hard work through a variety of student artwork displays. Families and community members had the opportunity to celebrate the incredible artistic achievements of our students and the dedication they put into their creations. The event also featured a districtwide musical performance, where students from across EUSD came together to share their musical talents and entertain the community. Thank you to our students, staff, families, and supporters who helped make the smArt Festival such a memorable event!

Congratulations to Mrs. Zeighami, our Teacher of the Visually Impaired, for being recognized by Helpful Honda during Teacher Appreciation Week 2026! Mrs. Zeighami was selected for her dedication and commitment to supporting visually impaired students across EUSD, including our students at Juniper Elementary. She received adaptive tools for visually impaired students, including braille materials and talking calculators to further support student learning and accessibility. We are so proud of the incredible impact she makes every day through her compassion, advocacy, and support for students and families. Thank you, Mrs. Zeighami, for all that you do!

Parents had the opportunity to enjoy coffee together while decorating their own cookies and spending time with fellow Juniper families and staff. We are excited to share that last week marked the grand opening of our Jaguar Retreat! This thoughtfully designed space provides students with a supportive environment where they can take a moment to pause, reflect, and recharge during the school day. The Jaguar Retreat is a calm and welcoming area that promotes self-regulation, mindfulness, and emotional well-being helping our students return to class ready to learn and succeed.

We were honored to welcome guests from the district, as well as representatives from the Escondido Education Foundation and other community members, who joined us to see this special space in action. Their visit helped highlight the importance of creating environments that support the whole child.

Juniper hosted its first-ever Lego Family Night in partnership with the Assistance League of Inland North County and LEGO Education. Families enjoyed an evening of creativity and teamwork as they worked together to complete fun Lego building challenges. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork, creativity, and family fun all in one place!
